The Hampton Roads area is comprised of the "seven cities" of Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Portsmouth, Hampton and Newport News, stretching northward to Williamsburg, and south to the neighboring Outer Banks of North Carolina.
The area is steeped in history, from the first "lost colony" of English settlers on Roanoke Island and the first permanent settlement at Jamestown, to the numerous battlefields and war monuments. Today, the area is home to a wide array of entertainment venues, sports complexes, theme parks, and natural beaches, making this a true family destination.
You'll definitely get in, on or around the water. Try your hand at fishing, surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, jet skiing, parasailing, boating... you name it!
